Method

How to read these datasheets.

Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT)

Participants are randomly assigned to either the H₂ group or the placebo group. This is the most robust format for limiting bias — Sim 2020 is an example.

Crossover vs. placebo study

Each participant successively tests H₂ then placebo, in a random order: they become their own control. This is the Aoki 2012 protocol.

n = sample size

The number of participants. The smaller n is (n=10, n=20), the more the results require confirmation. We display it on each sheet, without hiding it.

Limitations to keep in mind

Small samples, varied protocols (dose, duration, concentration), sometimes unreplicated results. This is a field of research, not proof of effect. Technical terms are defined in the glossary.
